Axis Health System will host a 2-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on March 15 and 16 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at Archuleta Integrated Healthcare in Pagosa Springs. Participants don't need any formal training to attend. Anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model. Spots are limited -- please reserve in advance. Moving Through Grief: A program for children ages 8 to 12

The CODY Project is hosting the 2nd annual Mental Health Mardi Gras on Saturday, May 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the LaPlata County Fairgrounds.  The event will include extreme games, food and lots of fun. New this year, the event will include a pulled pork dinner with a ticket.  The ticket will also enter participants in a drawing for door prizes.

'Box' written and performed by Dennis Elkins is a benefit for The Grief Center of Southwest Colorado. Performances are June 1 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and are available at The Durango Arts Center, http://durangoarts.tix.com This poignant and often humorous show explores the ways in which our memories and remains are stored in real and metaphorical boxes. Grief Support

The Grief Center of Southwest Colorado started ongoing grief support for children in the Silverton Schools in March, with an emphasis on bereavement and postvention as prevention.  The initial phase was so successful that we are continuing the program through the summer and the 2019-2020 school year.
